Shaw Slices Dancing Partners Face

Suzanne Shaw was practising a lift (involving a chair) when her skate accidentally made contact with Matt Evers face, missing his eye by less than an inch.
She sliced open Matt's face during rehearsals for this Sunday night's show of Dancing On Ice.
Matt was treated on the scene, while a horrified Suzanne watched on.
It's not the first time the couple have encountered trouble on the ice - in January, Suzanne, 26, slipped and fell during a rehearsal, landing face first on the rink before being clipped by Matt's skate, causing a head injury.

Torvill Prepares To Skate Solo

He will appear on Dancing On Ice as a mentor but will not perform his usual dance routine with Torvill, 50, at the opening of the ITV show.
Dean said, "It'll be odd for me to see Jayne skate on her own - I'll be itching to get out there on the ice with her."
Torvill, 50, admitted being nervous about skating solo in public for the first time.
She said, "This week will be odd to be out there on my own. I might feel a bit lonely."
"But Chris has choreographed my routine and I swear he's given me one that's harder than ever."
Chris, 49 should be back on the ice next week.

Rivalry On Ice (Queens)

The Sun reports that the rivalry between ex-Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw and Zaraah Abrahams is so bitter that show bosses have had to split them up in rehearsals.
An insider said, “It’s very icy between Suzanne and Zaraah. They are kept apart and we organised totally different practice times. They’re trying to outdo one another by doing bigger lifts.”
Shaw, 26, was way ahead of the female competition by scoring the top marks on the ITV1 show. But ex-Coronation Street actress Zaraah arrived on the scene last week to replace injured GMTV presenter Michael Underwood — and impressed the judges.
The 20-year-old got 18.5 from the judges last Sunday — despite coming into the competition two weeks late— and was told she had given a “true Week Three performance”.
Suzanne scored 20.5, but judge Jason Gardiner told her, “I was expecting better from you.”
The insider added, “The girls have a battle on.”

Lucy Rusedski: Hubby Is 'Terrible Dancer'

Lucy Rusedski has put the skids under her Dancing on Ice husband's boogie skills.
She tells Closer magazine, "I'm not speaking out of turn by saying Greg is a terrible dancer! We went to a christening recently, and the singer Darius Danesh was there. Greg asked him: 'Could you dance with my wife please?' It was brilliant - Darius is a fantastic mover so we danced for about three hours.!"

GMTV Presenter Underwood's Skaiting Injury

GMTV presenter Michael Underwood has pulled out of Dancing On Ice after breaking his ankle during training.
Underwood was practising his routine with partner Melanie Lambert last night when he fell awkwardly.
He was taken to hospital where X-rays revealed the fracture, reports Daily Mail.
The presenter said he was "devastated" to be leaving the show.
He said, "Hopefully, according to the doctor, there won't be any long-term damage."
"I would like to be be able to tell you it was something amazing, like some triple axle that I tried to do and failed - but all I was doing was trying to stop!"
The GMTV presenter will be in the audience cheering on the other contestants in Sunday night's live show.
"It's going to be hard but I want to be there to support them," added Underwood.

Greene First To Leave Dancing On Ice

Sarah Greene has become the first contestant to be voted off Dancing on Ice.
The presenter - who was paired up with professional Fred Palascak - was given the boot by judges following a skate-off against singer Samantha Mumba.
Greene, 49, vowed to continue ice-skating despite her exit from the competition.

The show launched on the weekend and I must admit that I was impressed. The early favourite to win has got to be Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain - who finished 1st after the judges gave their scores.

Gareth Gates Among Dancing On Ice Contestants

As much as I love Dancing On Ice, I must admit that it is a little like the poor man's Strictly Come Dancing. This year's line-up includes Emmerdale actress Linda Lusardi (who plays Carrie), TV presenter Tim Vincent, tennis ace Greg Rusedski, How Clean Is Your House star Aggie MacKenzie, former chart toppers Samantha Mumba and Gareth Gates. Also there is Suzanne Shaw (Hear'say) and Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain (Justin) who is favourite to win. The show starts this weekend on ITV1.

Bracken beat fellow finalist Clare Buckfield after getting the highest score for his performance of Torvill and Dean's famous Bolero routine.
Blue singer Duncan James was voted off the contest after receiving the fewest votes for the final's first round.
Each celebrity was coached by a professional and competed for viewers' votes each week to remain in the competition.
The show will be back next week in a special Champion Of Champions show, where contestants from this year will battle it out against last years finalists, including 2006 winner Gaynor Faye.

ITV Pulls Shows Including Dancing On Ice

Quiz channel ITV Play will come off air while independent auditors conduct a review of all ITV programmes.
ITV said its interactive services would return on a programme-by-programme basis, with each production facing scrutiny in the investigation.
Celeb skating show Dancing on Ice will only return at the weekend if phone-in procedures are believed to be working correctly, as they should.
The review follows a string of problems with TV phone-ins, including a mistake on ITV's X Factor, which led to viewers being overcharged a total of £200,000. Investigations are also being carried out into the BBC's Saturday Kitchen and Channel 4's Richard and Judy.

Dancing on Ice Begins
Dancing on Ice has started and yesterday the first celebrity and their skating partner were given their marching orders.
The show gave us skin, falls, and tight outfits as well as some spectacular dancing. However, after combining the judges and viewers votes the two pairs with the lowest score went head to head in the skate off.
After the Sky News newsreader Kay Burley and DJ Neil Fox danced for survival, the judges made the decision to save Burley and sent Foxy packing.
