Sutherland Leaves Jail

'24' star Kiefer Sutherland has left jail in California after serving a 48-day sentence for drink driving.

A police officer said the actor had spent his sentence cleaning bed sheets on laundry duty and had been "very humble".

Sutherland was arrested and found to be over the legal alcohol limit after leaving a party last year. He was still on probation for a previous offence.

The 41-year-old was sentenced after pleading no contest - or guilty.

He was fined $510 (£250), given five years probation and was ordered to take alcohol education and counselling programmes, reports BBC.

Kiefer Sutherland is set to serve 48 days in jail for drink-driving. He will do his time during a break in his work schedule and will be spending Christmas behind bars, reports Daily Mail.

He pleaded no contest to the charge of DUI yesterday and made a deal with prosecutors to serve his sentence after he has finished filming the new series 24.

Sutherland Busted For DUI; Facing Jail Time?

Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood during the early hours of Tuesday. Apparently the 24 star was twice the legal limit of .08, reports TMZ.

He was pulled over after officers spotted him making an illegal U-Turn, reports VOA.

This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years - he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he's convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail.

Kiefer Forgives Ex-Finacee Roberts

Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that he forgives his ex-fiancée Julia Roberts for running off with his best friend, just days before they were set to marry in 1991.

Sutherland, who plays Jack Bauer in 24, was devastated when Roberts ran off with with actor Jason Patric, reports The Sun.

But Kiefer, 40, said last night, “I commend Julia for seeing how young and silly we were, even as painful and difficult as it was.”

However he has not forgiven Jason, saying, “We were friends. I never got a call.”
