Wentz Reveals Why He Denied Pregnancy Rumours

Pete Wentz has defended his decision to keep news of wife Ashlee Simpson's pregnancy under wraps.

The Fall Out Boy singer confirmed reports that the couple are expecting their first child on Wednesday after previously describing them as "crazy".

He said he had initially denied the rumours out of concern for the health of mother and baby, telling MTV, "Every woman, no matter who they are or what they do for a living, has the right to wait at least three months before sharing this very personal news."

"We wanted to wait until after the first trimester before confirming anything, just like any other couple..."

He added, "It's insane that you can't let happy news brew in Hollywood."

"I apologise to anyone who felt misinformed but the truth is, the person and growing baby is who I felt most loyal to protect and defend."

Simpson- Wentz Confrim Pregnancy

Ashlee Simpson has confirmed she is expecting her first child with Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz.

"We wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," the couple announced on Wentz's blog.

Rumours started about Ashlee's pregnancy since the couple became engaged in April.

The pair married at a ceremony at Simpson's family home in California earlier this month.

Ashlee & Pete Wentz Tie The Knot

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married on Saturday evening in an intimate ceremony, their spokesperson told People.

"We're delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends," said the spokesperson.

Simpson, 23, and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents' Los Angeles area home.

Dad Joe Simpson performed the non-denominational ceremony, while sister Jessica served as maid of honor. Wentz's English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer. Guests included Jessica's boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

Ashlee Spotted Kissing Wentz

Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz spent Saturday night kissing and cuddling at a club in L.A. reports People.

At 'Parc' for a pal's birthday, Simpson, 22, and Wentz, 27, were spotted holding hands, gazing into each other's eyes and kissing.

An onlloker said, "They definitely weren't hiding the fact that they were together. They were making out a lot and they were pretty intense."

I think they make a hot couple.

Ashlee Denies Relationship

Ashlee Simpson has denied claims that she is dating musician Chad Hugo, reports DigitalSpy.

The singer was spotted leaving a US nightclub with Hugo after reportedly being snubbed by actor Ryan Phillippe, leading to speculation that she had started a relationship with the N*E*R*D member.

A rep for Ash insisted: "That is not true. She is working with Chad on her new album. There is nothing romantic going on."
