Britney's X Factor Date Revealed

Britney Spears will appear on The X Factor on November 15 to perform new single Womanizer - in what will be her first visit to the UK since 2004

Simon Cowell told the News Of The World, "I'm really excited about it, because she has got her act together and the new record is terrific."

"She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist."

Beyonce To Appear On Strictly & X Factor

X Factor chiefs are said to be furious that Beyoncé has also agreed to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.

Beyonce, who is promoting her new album I Am... Sasha Fierce, has already agreed to appear on the singing contest in December.

However, The Mirror reports that SCD have managed to get the singer to appear on the dancing show at the end of November.

"As far as we are concerned we are the No1 show on Saturday. If X Factor wants Beyoncé, they'll have to wait. She has signed and we've also got Take That confirmed for the coming weeks," a BBC source said.

Meanwhile, an insider at The X Factor said they also have Mariah Carey and Britney Spears lined up. "We aren't happy Beyoncé is doing Strictly, but she is just one of a number of huge names we're getting," the source said.

Britney : ‘What The Hell Was I Thinking?’

Britney Spears has admitted that she cannot explain her unpredictable behaviour over the past two years.

Speaking during a 90-minute MTV special titled Britney: For The Record, the ‘Womanizer’ singer confessed that she had made mistakes during her highly publicised breakdown, including shaving her head and being hospitalised after a confrontation with police.

She said, "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know. I sit there and I look back: 'I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?'"

The 26-year-old added, "So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know.”

"I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."

The life of troubled singer Britney Spears has been put at risk by her early release from a hospital in Los Angeles, her parents have said.

Jamie (pictured) and Lynne Spears said they were "extremely disappointed" that their daughter had been released against the recommendation of her psychiatrist.

Britney, accompanied by private security guards, slipped out of the UCLA Medical Center a week earlier than expected, reports BBC.

In a joint statement, her parents said: "We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

Britney had been undergoing psychiatric evaluation since 31 January.

Britney's Father Has Control Of Her Estate

Britney Spears has had control of her estate and her own welfare taken from her, under order of a court, reports BBC.

The singer and her assets have been placed under the "conservatorship" of her father, James Spears. A court creates a conservatorship when a person cannot care for himself or herself or handle their own affairs.

Court commissioner Reva Goetz said Spears would be under conservatorship until 4 February, when another hearing will be held.

The conservators will have power over the 26-year-old singer's liquid assets and can bar people from visiting her, officials said.

The Los Angeles court also placed a restraining order on Spears' manager Sam Lutfi, and gave permission to change the locks on her estate and remove anyone who was there.

Britney was admitted to a psychiatric hospital on Thursday.

Britney Spears Taken To Hospital

Britney Spears was been taken to UCLA Medical Centre (Los Angeles hospital) by ambulance to be put under psychiatric care for the second time this month.

A police officer told Associated Press that the pop star was being taken to hospital to "get help."

Britney is on a three-day psychiatric hold, but sources say there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days.

A source told Mail Online that Britney's trip to UCLA was the result of a planned "snatch and grab" intervention led by her mother Lynne.

"She had no idea it was coming," said the source, adding, "Lynne planned it down to the last detail."

When Britney heard she was being taken into care, she said, "Is something wrong?" and insiders say she was too "out of it" to resist.

TMZ reports the emergency treatment had been arranged by Britney's psychiatrist.

The singer has reportedly not slept for days, and her psychiatrist felt her mental stability had deteriorated rapidly.

The LA Times reports that more than a dozen motorbike police and an ambulance swept through the front gates of Spears's hilltop Studio City home shortly before 1am LA time. A police helicopter hovered overhead.

Spears was rushed from a side entrance of her home into an ambulance.

Britney Misses Court Hearing

An LA judge has refused Britney Spears the right to visit her two sons. Britney, 26, showed up at the hearing and was met by the paparazzi, but she left before even entering the courtroom.

A source told The Sun, "Britney couldn’t handle the mob scene. She looked terrified."

Later Britney visited a church where "she just walked in, sat down and walked out," reports TMZ.com

Another hearing was scheduled for 19 February.

Britney was first banned from seeing her kids following a a stand-off with police when she refused to return the children to ex-husband Kevin Federline a few weeks ago.

"Very Concerned" Dr Phil Chats With Britney

TMZ has learned that Dr. Phil paid a visit to Britney and she could return the favour next week by appearing on "The Dr. Phil Show." (btw is that show still on?)

Dr. Phil has issued the following statement to ET about his visit with Britney Spears this morning:

"My meeting with Britney and some of her family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.

Britney Out Of Hospital But Loses Kids Visits

A court has ordered that Britney Spears' two children will be placed under the sole care of her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Following the hearing which took place yesterday, it was revealed that Britney’s visitation rights had been suspended until "further order of the court." Another hearing has been scheduled for January 14.

The decision came in the aftermath of a custody dispute at Spears' home, which resulted in the singer being hospitalised. She was in hospital and is believed to have undergone psychological tests.

Daily Mail reports, Spears has recently been released from hospital where she was reported to be on suicide watch.

Spears lost custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James in October last year, but she had been given limited access to her two sons.

Britney Carried Out On Stretcher

Britney Spears has been carried out of her home on a stretcher and taken into custody after police were called in a dispute involving her children.

"While officers were at Britney's home they found that Britney appeared under the influence of an unknown substance," officer Jason Lee told the BBC.

"She is being taken into custody for evaluation," he added.

The 26-year-old singer and ex-husband Kevin Federline are fighting over custody of their two young sons.

Police were called to Spears' home at 2000 local time (0400 GMT) over a family custodial dispute that they tried to resolve "peacefully by court order", Mr Lee said.

After nearly three hours, Spears reportedly handed over her children, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, to Federline.

TMZ reports that one of Britney's kids - Jayden James - was also taken to hospital but it is currently unknown what he was treated for.

Cox Defends Britney Spoof On Dirt

Courteney Cox has defended her plan to use Britney Spears' recent troubles as the inspiration for a storyline in her hit show Dirt.

The actress intends to spoof Spears' problems in the FX drama, in which she plays the editor of a celebrity magazine.

The singer's high-profile divorce and custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline will provide inspiration for material in the second series, as well as her infamous hair-shaving incident.

A source said earlier this month: "Courteney can’t wait to give the Britney character a major smack-down on camera."

However, Cox denied that she intended to criticise Spears, saying: "This is not an attack on Britney. I am not out to offend anyone."

Britney's Visits With Kids Stopped

Britney Spears was been told she may not visit her two children until she complies with court orders, a Los Angeles judge has ruled.

The 25-year-old had been granted monitored visits after losing custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline.

But after an emergency hearing on Wednesday, the judge said the visits had been halted "pending Ms Spears' compliance with the court orders".

It is unknown what Britney has failed to do, reports BBC.

Another hearing will take place later this month.
